Visit Game of Thrones locations

For all the fans of the Game of Thrones series, we definitely recommend a visit to Klis fortress that served as the Game of Thrones site. You can hire a scooter and drive 17 km away from the Split Town Center uphill.  

Fortress was built atop the narrow spine of a craggy butte overlooking the city and the surrounding area between Mosor and Kozjak mountains. This ancient fortress, served for many years as a defense line from foreign invaders. Today it is largely restored and significantly enlarged, with the spectacular sunset view to Split and the sea. 

On the old Klis road, you must try the local specialty – spit roasted lamb. Locals for all the nearby areas come here to enjoy this delicious meal typical fro this area.  VIEW MORE
